The L shaped ruin has been designed to be both aesthetically pleasing
and game functional. Detailed with classic buttresses, gothic arches
and techno treadplate floors, this ruin screams dystopian future.
Customers who buy the fully painted and assembled L ruin get to choose
from three painting styles. The first is iconic concrete grey
(click here), this dark grey scheme looks great on most tables. Classic marble white
will suite a lighter table but also looks great as a standout feature
ruin on a dark cobble grey game mat. The final style is bleached desert
tan (shown in the photos below) which is design for players with desert
games mats. The base and balcony are detailed with rubble and debris,
giving the ruin a truly war feel.
Game play wise, the ruins is specifically designed to pose tactical
challenges to players. Most importantly, YES this ruin will totally
block line of sight to an Imperial Knight. Each measures side of the L
measures 24cm / 9.5” while the height of each ruin measures ~25cm / 10"
tall. Corner to corner the ruin measures 34cm / 13.5". At ground level
a ruin is over 2 inches thick, so no cheeky close combats through the
walls. Infantry units cannot maintain unit coherency through the walls
so any move through the wall must take the whole unit through the wall
etc. The balcony gives infantry an elevated firing position and there
is just enough ruin clutter on the base so it's clear that it provides
a cover save to infantry. While it adds realism, the rubble will not
significantly hinder model placement.
Customers who enjoy building their own kits will enjoy the straight
forward build and easy assembly. Painting is also easy and we will show
you some quick and easy painting tricks to get your building looking
great. You will find these in our full instructions and a painting
guide, PDF.
